this is me and this may be you.

don't judge me. don't judge my friends. don't judge your brothers and sisters. people are different from you. you've had a tough life? so freakin' what. do you do everything right or do you mess up? do you struggle with deep, dark sins? do you have excuses for them? well, so do they. so do i. so does everyone. why the hell should your case be okay? what makes you better? oh, you would never admit to thinking you're better, but you sure do act like it.

you love the international, but you hate your fellow american. you love the lost, but you hate your own brothers and sisters. you judge, judge, judge. you call everyone out, or just give an air of disapproval. but when do you encourage them? offer them help? a solution to their problems, or ideas for ministry? you think you have all the answers, but instead of sharing them with the body, you just watch them trip and fall and then say, "i don't like them. i don't really want to hang out with those folks. they've got it all wrong, and they might mess up my ministry." or you just avoid them altogether. you never ask yourself what made them that way. what has gone wrong for them, or what hurt them, or what are they insecure about that makes them act that way. and you would never try to help them fix it. or pray for them, because, like you already decided, you just don't like them.

you can shrug everyone off and be fine. just do your thing- be cool, calm, even cold sometimes. don't let on to what's really inside. but what about the people who see that cold side of you? what if they can't just shrug YOU off. your coolness sticks with them-plagues them. you COULD have made their day better. you could have given them a word of encouragement. you could have taught them something. but you don't like them today. they just aren't worth your time. let me tell you something. YOUR time has been bought and paid for. if it's so valuable, anyway, that your brother or sister or neighbor isn't worthy of it, why are you sitting on your ass doing nothing important? i don't have a good excuse. do you?
